Shops selling SUPS/making them will have a small hit but really its at a price point that will entice more people to join the sport, try it out for a while with a smaller investment and then
1) if they like SUP'ing then will get a real board made or buy something legit
2) sell it without having lost as much money.
A SUP typically runs 1100-1300 investment easily. So people can invest $400 plus less into the sport and have everything right away.
In the end the industry will have more fans and enthusiasts whose money ultimately will end up back in the custom shapers hands but just not immediately.
